Walk The Mile.
Durban’s beachfront underwent an intensive upgrade prior to the 2010 FIFA World Cup resulting in a stunning seafront walkway lined with many exciting things to do. The Golden Mile is the focal point of the beachfront, a tourist magnet and favourite amongst Kwazulu-Natal residents as well.
A beautiful stretch along the coastline that has all the facilities needed for a great family outing. You can walk the boardwalk or make the most of those skateboards, bicycles and rollerblades you have at home. Don’t have your own? Not to worry, you can rent pedal cars, bicycles and rollerblades from the Skate Store, Xpressionsor Bike & Bean and feel the salty wind on your face as you glide around enjoying the sunshine and vibrant atmosphere. Segway tours are also available and can be booked at Moses Mabhida Stadium (another key spot to visit while in Durban) you can whizz on the walkway with your guide who gives a fun informative tour about Durban.
The ultimate marine theme park, uShaka Marine World offers a water park, an oceanarium, dolphin, seal & penguin shows, a retail section, beach activities and much more.
The incredible SeaWorld is an experience not to be missed, with dolphin shows, seal shows, penguin presentations, shark dives, ray feeds, shark feeds and much more. Enjoy getting up close with ocean creatures on Sea Animal Encounters Island. Meet a dolphin, feed a sting ray, walk with the sharks or snorkel with exotic fish & baby sand sharks. Opened in 1969 by a non-profit organisation, Mini Town is a typical S.A. Coastal City built to scale of 1:24 of full actual size. There are a number of Durban buildings in Mini Town, along with other S.A major city buildings and some designed by Mini Towns own architects. The kids will just love to see the working harbour and rail system. A fun and interesting spot along Durban beachfront to stop off and view. Have some laughs with the kids while pretending to be a giant walking through the city. Their curious minds will wonder at how all the tiny components have been put together to create this special space.
An entertainment complex that caters for people of all ages, Suncoast Casino offers some of the best entertainment on Durban beachfront.
